A RED-NECKED GREBE was at the Ballona Creek mouth and jetties on February 12.
Up to four VAUX’S SWIFTS were at the San Gabriel Coastal Basin Spreading Grounds in Pico Rivera from February 10-15 and three were near Silver Lake on February 10.
A BROAD-BILLED HUMMINGBIRD was at a residence in Glendora from February 10-15.
Two LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS were along the Los Angeles River at Downey Road through February 15.
A PACIFIC LOON continued at Quail Lake near Gorman through February 10.
Up to five YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS continued at Ballona Lagoon through February 11 and at Alamitos Bay- up to ten individuals- at Maurice Mossy Kent Park through February 13.
Ten CALIFORNIA CONDORS were off the I-5 Freeway at Templin Highway on February 11.
A SWAINSON’S HAWK was at the Piute Ponds on Edwards AFB on February 12.
A ZONE-TAILED HAWK continued in Monrovia through February 15. Another was at the Sunshine Preserve in Glendale on February 11.
The YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER at Descanso Gardens in La Canada was reported through February 12 in the courtyard area past the visitor’s center.
Another YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was at Veteran’s Park in Sylmar through February 14.
A TROPICAL KINGBIRD continued at the San Gabriel Coastal Basin Spreading Grounds in Pico Rivera through February 13 near the Mines Ave. entrance. A PALM WARBLER continued in this area through February 13- Google Earth 33.9932, -118.0769
The THICK-BILLED KINGBIRD continued in Griffith Park through February 11. Google Earth coordinates are approximately 34.1409, -118.2880, although the bird moves around the area and has been seen in the Old Zoo area.
WESTERN FLYCATCHERS were near the southeast corner of the Huntington Gardens in San Marino on February 14 and at Murphy Ranch Park in Whittier near the parking area on February 15.
A BELL’S VIREO continued at Rio de Los Angeles Park in Los Angeles through February 10 and one continued near the south end of the desert garden at the Huntington Gardens in San Marino through February 8.
The WINTER WREN at Castaic Lagoon was reported through February 11 here 34.5091, -118.6135
A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW continued at a residence in Silver Lake through February 12 and another was a Vina Vieja Park in Pasadena through February 15. One was also near Six Flags Magic Mountain on February 13.
A DARK-EYED “PINK-SIDED” JUNCO was at Fern Dell in Griffith Park on February 11.
A DARK-EYED “GRAY-HEADED” JUNCO was on the north side of Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas near Picnic Are 3 and 4 from February 14-15.
SAGEBRUSH SPARROWS were reported at 240th Street East and Ave. J and at Ave. B and 60th Street West in the Antelope Valley on February 11.
A continuing SWAMP SPARROW was at St. Andrew’s Abbey near Valyermo (above the Valyermo Road bridge) on February 13.
A GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE continued at the West San Gabriel River Parkway Nature Trail in Lakewood through February 14 below Monte Verde Park.
A HOODED ORIOLE continued at the Huntington Gardens in San Marino (in the Desert Garden) through February 12.
A RUSTY BLACKBIRD was at the Piute Ponds on Edwards AFB on February 16 north of Ave. C between the gazebo and spillway.
A continuing RUSTY BLACKBIRD was seen at the San Gabriel Coastal Basin Spreading Grounds in Pico Rivera on February 13.
A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was at Hopkins Wilderness Park in Redondo Beach through February 12.
An AMERICAN REDSTART continued near the middle of Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora through February 11.
A CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER was reported at Hahamongna Watershed Park in Pasadena through February 11. Google Earth 34.1887, -118.1776. In this same general area, a DUSKY FLYCATCHER continued through February 10 and a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER continued through February 15.
A PAINTED REDSTART continued at San Dimas Canyon Park through February 15 in the southwest corner. Northeast of the Nature Center, an EASTERN PHOEBE continued through February 10.
