Up to two BRANT were present at the Piute Ponds on Edwards AFB (letter of permission required) through May 27.
Single COMMON MERGANSERS were at the Piute Ponds on Edwards AFB (letter of permission required for entry) on May19 and at Quail Lake near Gorman on May 25.
An INCA DOVE continued at Lake Los Angeles through May 26. The location is along 168th Street East between East Ave. N4 and Mossdale Ave.
BLACK SWIFTS were reported in unusual numbers with five at Bear Divide near Santa Clarita on May 19, four there on May 23, two at the Piute Ponds from May 21-22, two at Baldwins Hills Scenic Overlook on May 23 and one at Claremont Wilderness Park on May 23.
Two CHIMNEY SWIFTS were at the Piute Ponds from May 21-22.
An AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHER was on the Los Angeles River south of Anaheim Street through May 22. Be aware that American x Black Oystercatcher intergrades have been present as well.
A STILT SANDPIPER was at the Piute Ponds from May 24-25.
A HEERMANN'S GULL was at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas on May 27.
Up to three NEOTROPIC CORMORANTS continued at Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas through May 26. These birds are generally seen on the buoys near the north shore of the lake. Others were at the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve on May 24 and at Peck Road Water Conservation Park in Arcadia on May 23.
A CALIFORNIA CONDOR was at Quail Lake on May 17.
A ZONE-TAILED HAWK was along Gorman Post Road on May 24.
PURPLE MARTINS included nine at the Rolling Hills Landfill Loop on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, one at Peck Road Water Conservation Park in Arcadia on May 22, two at the Piute Ponds from May 22-23, one at the West San Gabriel River Parkway Nature Trail in Lakewood on May 22 and three in Redondo Beach on May 23.
A LUCY'S WARBLER was reported along Rubio Crest Drive in Altadena on May 23.
A PALM WARBLER was at Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora on May 23.
A SUMMER TANAGER continued at Pearblossom Park in the south Antelope Valley through May 27.
ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKS were on Santa Catalina Island on May 26 and at College Park in Claremont the same day.
