WHITE-WINGED DOVES were at Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica on October 16 and in Long Beach along the San Gabriel River (possibly two individuals) between Willow Street and 7th Street from October 20-21.
The PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER along lower Ballona Creek continued through October 17 in the vicinity of the UCLA boat ramp (upstream from Pacific Ave.).
The NEOTROPIC CORMORANT at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas continued through October 22, with two birds present on October 20. They are usually near the northeast end of the lake or along the north shore.
Two YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS continued at the Ballona Freshwater Marsh through October 20.
Six PACIFIC LOONS were at Quail Lake near Gorman on October 17.
The ZONE-TAILED HAWK in Monrovia continued to be reported in the vicinity of Grand Avenue Park through October 21.
NORTHERN “YELLOW-SHAFTED” FLICKERS were at the Piute Ponds on Edwards AFB (letter of permission required) from October 17-18 and at Santa Fe Dam in Irwindale on October 19.
A TROPICAL KINGBIRD was at Colorado Lagoon in Long Beach through October 20 and other TROPICAL KINGBIRDS continued around the pond at Entradero Park in Torrance through October 21 and at Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park in Harbor City through October 14 (on the west side of the lake near the park buildings).
Yet another TROPICAL KINGBIRD was at Madrona Marsh in Torrance on October 20 in the sump area.
The GREATER PEWEE continued at Rustic Canyon in Pacific Palisades through October 21. It has been in the vicinity of 780 Latimer Road, but moves around the area and is more often heard than seen.
A late BELL’S VIREO continues at the West San Gabriel River Parkway Nature Trail in Lakewood, being last reported on October 22.
A WHITE WAGTAIL was along the lower Los Angeles River above the Willow Street crossing from October 18-19.
A LAPLAND LONGSPUR was on San Clemente Island (no public access) on October 16.
A GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was at Colorado Lagoon in Long Beach from October 17-19. It was near the fence line between the golf course and the lagoon.
Another GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was in Porter Ranch along Mormon Canyon Trail on October 17.
CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS were in Valley Village on October 17, by the spillway at Santa Fe Dam in Irwindale on October 18, at Apollo Park near Lancaster on October 22 (west side of the park near the picnic shelters) and at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas on October 22 (in the northeast picnic area close to restroom 8).
A GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE continued at the West San Gabriel River Parkway Nature Trail in Lakewood through October 18 and another was at DeForest Park in Long Beach in the southern wetland area on October 20.
A single BOBOLINK continued in the grassy area by the spillway at Santa Fe Dam in Irwindale through October 17.
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLERS continued at Hopkins Wilderness Park in Redondo Beach from October 22 (near Sycamore Camp), at Madrona Marsh in Torrance through October 22, at the West San Gabriel River Parkway Nature Trail in Lakewood through October 17 and at Deforest Park (south of the tennis courts) through October 20.
A LUCY’S WARBLER was at Peck Road Water Conservation Park in Arcadia on October 22 in willows on the slope northwest of the large lawn area west of the parking lot.
The AMERICAN REDSTART continued at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas through October 18. It has been near the northeast shore near the dried pond and closed wooden dock near the large square parking lot.
SUMMER TANAGERS were at the Village Green Condominiums in Los Angeles on October 18 and continuing at Wardlow Park in Long Beach through October 22.
