This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for June 12.
At least one INCA DOVE continued in Lake Los Angeles in the east Antelope Valley on June 6. When present, these birds have usually been along 169th Street East, north of East Ave N4.
Up to three COMMON GROUND-DOVES were in Bellflower through June 11. They have been seen adjacent to the San Gabriel River and were most recently visible by looking south from the Volutone parking lot.
Up to three BLACK SWIFTS were seen north of Claremont Wilderness Park from June 9-10. They are present only briefly in the late afternoon and early evening.
At least one AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHER continued at Royal Palms Beach in San Pedro through June 9.
A GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL continued along the LA River north of the Slauson crossing in Maywood through June 9.
One to two YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS continued at the Sims Bio Pond in Long Beach through June 12.
An EASTERN KINGBIRD was at Apollo Park near Lancaster on June 6 along the north fence line.
Two PURPLE MARTINS were at the Val Verde landfill on June 6.
A very late HERMIT THRUSH continued at Apollo Park near Lancaster through June 11. It was on the north side of the park, west of the playground area.
A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was at Buckhorn Campground in the San Gabriel Mountains on June 9 near campsite 29.
An immature male AMERICAN REDSTART was found at the Playa Vista Riparian Corridor and present there from June 11-12. It was along the riparian corridor just below the "LMU" (Loyola Marymount University) sign on the hill.
Two NORTHERN PARULAS- one being discovered on June 5- were along Soledad Canyon Road (at the old USFS Wildlife Viewing Area) through June 7.
Two MAGNOLIA WARBLERS were in the east Antelope Valley on June 9 near East Ave. 10G and 100th Street East.
A singing WILSON'S WARBLER was in the Little Rock Creek riparian patch along Little Rock Wash Road on June 9.
Two SUMMER TANAGERS continued at Pearblossom Park in the Antelope Valley through June 7. They are being seen west of the baseball field.
Another SUMMER TANAGER continued south of Sycamore Campground along Big Rock Creek near Valyermo through June 10.
A male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was in Glendora on June 7.
