This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for June 16, 2023.

The TUNDRA BEAN-GOOSE in the Antelope Valley continued at Apollo Park through June 15.

A YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON continued at Ballona Lagoon in Marina del Rey through June 16.

A WHITE-EYED VIREO was in the Antelope Valley by 2744 West Ave. O on June 13.

A WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW was at White Point Nature Preserve in San Pedro on June 14.

A BALTIMORE ORIOLE was in Area 2 at El Dorado Park in Long Beach on June 11.  It was in the area northwest of the lake by the bike rentals.

An AMERICAN REDSTART was at the Piute Ponds on Edwards AFB (letter of permission required for entry) on June 11 by Parking 1.  A SUMMER TANAGER was here on June 10 along Ave. C and a LEAST BITTERN was seen on June 11.

A SUMMER TANAGER was at Wardlow Park in Long Beach on June 12.

A ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was at a residence in Rolling Hills Estates on June 13.

CORRECTION:  Last week’s RBA incorrectly noted a single ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK at Griffith Park from May 30-June 4.  In fact there were two birds, one at the Old Zoo area and another at the Los Angeles Zoo.
