This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for April 4.
Two BLACK SCOTERS were along the lower LA River in Long Beach on March 29, just below Seventh Street.
A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was along the LA River between Slauson and Bandini from March 31-April 1.
A GLAUCOUS GULL was along the LA River in Maywood from March 31-April 4. It was just north of the Slauson crossing.
NEOTROPIC CORMORANTS were at at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas through April 1 and at Apollo Park near Lancaster on March 29.
Seven CATTLE EGRETS were at Castaic Lagoon on April 2.
Another DUSKY-CAPPED FLYCATCHER was at Heartwell Park in Lakewood through March 30 in the trees west of the playground area.
The SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER near LAX on was reported through March 31. It is being seen on La Tijera north of Westchester along the north side of the airport (east of Fire Station 5).
A wintering DUSKY FLYCATCHER continued at Fox Hills Park in Culver City through March 28 and a SWAMP SPARROW continued there through March 30..
a GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE was at the Ballona Freshwater Marsh on April 2 between the south end of the marsh and Cabora Road.
A HARRIS'S SPARROW continued at a residence on the Palos Verdes Peninsula through April 2.
WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS were in Beverly Hills on March 29 and in Valley Village on April 4.
An ORCHARD ORIOLE was in Long Beach at Carroll Park from March 29-30 in a bottlebrush tree.
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was at Skylinks Golf Course in Long Beach on April 3.
A PANTED REDSTART was found along San Dimas Canyon Road on April 4. It was at mile .93 in oak trees above the road.
A SUMMER TANAGER continued at Wardlow Park in Long Beach through April 4 between the park building and playground. Another was in Altadena from March 29-30 and others were southwest of Victory Park in Pasadena on April 1, at 2339 Lambert Drive and continuing at Legg Lake near the Durfee Ave parking lot through April 2.
