This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for February 12.

A male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE continued on the California Aqueduct in the Antelope Valley through February 10. This past week it has been seen between west of 77th Street East but it often moves along the channel.

An INCA DOVE was at the usual reliable location in Lake Los Angeles from February 7-10. Check 169th Street East around East Ave. N4.

Twelve MOUNTAIN PLOVER were in the Antelope Valley at 110th Street East and Ave. I on February 10.

A first cycle LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was at the San Gabriel Coastal Basin Spreading Grounds in Pico Rivera on February 6.

The LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL at MacArthur Park in Los Angeles continued through February 11.

NEOTROPIC CORMORANTS were at Santa Fe Dam from February 6-7, at the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Preserve from February 7-11, at Peck Road Water Conservation Park in Arcadia through February 8 and at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas through February 11.  Seven were on Baldwin Lake at the Los Angeles County Arboretum in Arcadia on February 8.

The immature LITTLE BLUE HERON at the Cabrillo / Salinas de San Pedro Salt Marsh in San Pedro was present through February 9.

A YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was at Mariner's Village near the Ballona Creek mouth on February 11.

The BROAD-WINGED HAWK at the South Coast Botanic Garden in Rolling Hills Estates was seen through February 11. It moves around the area, but area around the dry pond seems to be a good place to start looking.

The ZONE-TAILED HAWK in Monrovia continued at Grand Ave. Park through February 8.

The ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK near Gorman continued through February 6. It is being seen from Ralph's Ranch Road where it parallels the 5 Freeway south of Gorman. Up to three CALIFORNIA CONDORS have also been in this area and at nearby Quail Lake through February 8.

A SHORT-EARED OWL was in the Antelope Valley at Ave. I and 215th Street East on February 7.

A pale "PRAIRIE" MERLIN was at Evergreen Cemetery in Boyle Heights on February 7.

The DUSKY-CAPPED FLYCATCHER at Heartwell Park in Long Beach continued through February 11. It has been near the corner of Parkcrest St. and Woodruff Ave.

The BROWN-CRESTED FLYCATCHER at Michigan Park in Whittier continued there through February 9. It has also been seen in the residential area west of the park.

Another BROWN-CRESTED FLYCATCHER continued at the South Coast Botanic Garden (and in adjacent residential areas) through February 10.

The TROPICAL KINGBIRD continued around the pond at Entradero Park in Torrance through February 11.

The GREATER PEWEE at Lacy Park in San Marino was seen through February 11. It has been seen at various places around the perimeter of the sports field.

PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHES continued along the Los Angles River just below Los Feliz Blvd. through February 9 and at the South Coast Botanic Garden through February 11.

The EASTERN PHOEBE at the Bette Davis Picnic Area in Glendale was reported through February 10. It is being seen on the north side of the Los Angeles River, usually just east of the Riverside Drive crossing. It may be seen in the park area proper or between there and the river channel.

Another EASTERN PHOEBE continued by the equestrian center at the Rolling Hills landfill loop (adjacent to the South Coast Botanic Garden) through February 11.

A WARBLING VIREO was at the Los Feliz Golf Course along the Los Angeles River just above Los Feliz Blvd. on February 10.

The GRASSHOPPER SPARROW at the San Gabriel Coastal Basin Spreading Grounds in Pico Rivera continued through February 7. It has been at the large north basin along the east side berm (north of and across from the Mines Ave. entrance). The continuing PALM WARBLER was by the Mines Ave. entrance also through February 7.

Up to three CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS were at Vina Vieja Park in Pasadena from February 6-11. They move around the park but check the feeders along Avocado Ave.

Another CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was at Wheeler Park in Claremont on February 10.

A DARK-EYED "GRAY-HEADED" JUNCO continued in Juniper Hills through February 6.

A DARK-EYED "GRAY-HEADED" JUNCO continued at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas by the north shore play structure through February 11 and a DARK-EYED "PINK-SIDED" JUNCO continued at Sailboat Cove through February 10.

Two more DARK-EYED "GRAY-HEADED" JUNCOS were in the Walker Ranch area near Placerita Canyon in Santa Clarita on February 11.

The West San Gabriel River Parkway Nature Trail in Lakewood continued to host a GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE and BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER (the latter just south of Monte Verde Park) through February 11 and a PALM WARBLER was near the south end of the park through February 9.

A BALTIMORE ORIOLE continued through February 10 and a HOODED ORIOLE continued through February 8 at the South Coast Botanic Garden in Rolling Hills Estates. Both have been in coral trees near the entrance. A SUMMER TANAGER was in this area on February 7.

A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER continued at Madrona Marsh in Torrance through February 5 and a new bird was found at Michigan Park in Whitter on February 6.

Another BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER continued near the southeast corner of Hopkins Wilderness Park in Redondo Beach through February 8.

The AMERICAN REDSTART at Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach continued through February 11 by the entrance to the botanic garden.

A PALM WARBLER continued at the San Gabriel Coastal Basin Spreading Grounds in Pico Rivera through February 7, west of the Mines Ave. entrance.

The BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER in Long Beach was seen through February 11. The bird is at 388 E. Ocean Blvd at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center. It has been in a Ficus and Tipu trees by the intersection of E. Seaside Way and S. Hart Place.

The PAINTED REDSTART at Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood was reported through February 11. It has been frequenting an oak tree by the south side of the Pinecrest section, south of the pond.

A SUMMER TANAGER continued at the south end of Wardlow Park in Long Beach through February 6.

A BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK was seen on February 6 and a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW continued through February 8 around the dog park at Horsethief Canyon Park in San Dimas.
