This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for June 21, 2024.

A RED-BREASTED MERGANSER continued at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas through June 18.

The LITTLE BLUE HERON at Del Rey Lagoon and on the Ballona Salt Pan in Playa del Rey continued through June 9-13.

A WESTERN CATTLE EGRET was along Ballona Creek by the 90 Freeway on June 19.

The continuing YELLOW-HEADED CARACARA in Lomita was reported through June 18.  It has been hanging around the Target parking lot at Narbonne Ave. and PCH.  Patience may be required.

A RED-EYED VIREO was at Entradero Park in Torrance on June 16.

A NORTHERN PARULA and two SUMMER TANAGERS were at Murphy Ranch Park in Whittier on June 15.  One of the tanagers continued through June 17.

A ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK continued at Dominguez Park in Redondo Beach through June 16.
