This is the Los Angeles Rare Bird Alert for June 25.

At least one SPOTTED DOVE was off Compton Ave. between 89th Street and 90th Street through June 18.  The area around Mt. Rose Baptist Church is a good place to start looking.

A WHITE-WINGED DOVE was at a residence in Whittier from June 15-20.

Two BLACK SWIFTS were above Claremont Wilderness Park on June 19.  Late afternoon is the time to look for these along Cobal Canyon Motorway.

A GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL was along the Los Angeles River north of Slauson Ave. in Maywood from June 20-24.

A RED-FOOTED BOOBY was seen at Pt. Fermin on June 22.

One to two NEOTROPIC CORMORANTS continued along the lower Los Angeles River in Long Beach through June 22.  They have been below the Willow Street crossing.

Two more NEOTROPIC CORMORANTS were at the lake at the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve on June 19.

Another NEOTROPIC CORMORANT and a COMMON MERGANSER were at Quail Lake near Gorman on June 20.

A YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was at the Jack Dunster Marine Biological Reserve in Alamitos Bay on June 18.

Another YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON continued at the Ballona Freshwater Marsh through June 20.

PLUMBEOUS VIREOS were recorded breeding along Vincent Gulch Trail in the east San Gabriel Mountains on June 19.

An out of season WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW was at Sunset Peak Saddle west of Mt. Baldy Village on June 20.

Two SUMMER TANAGERS continued at Pearblossom Park in the south Antelope Valley through June 18.

Another SUMMER TANAGER was in Valyermo along Big Rock Creek on June 18.  It was about 200 yards upstream from the entrance to St. Andrews Abbey.
