The continuing AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHER at Royal Palms Beach in San Pedro was observed through February 4.
The ZONE-TAILED HAWK in Monrovia was reported through February 1. It is in the area around Grand Park and is often seen flying in the vicinity.
The TROPICAL KINGBIRD continued around the pond at Entradero Park in Torrance through February 5. A PALM WARBLER continued at the park (often by the batting cages) through February 1.
A HAMMOND’S FLYCATCHER continued at Madrona Marsh in Torrance through February 1 near the “Chevron corner” of the marsh.
A PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER was at Coldwater Canyon Park (just north of the park proper) in Beverly Hills on February 5.
A PACIFIC WREN was along Winter Creek Trail between Big Santa Anita Canyon and Hoegee’s Campground on February 1.
The RED-FLANKED BLUETAIL at Clark Library in the West Adams district of Los Angles was seen through February 5. The library grounds are normally open to the public from 9-5 on weekdays only. This Sunday (February 10) the grounds will be open from 12-5. The area near the southeast U-shaped hedge may be the most reliable area for this bird, but it moves around the grounds.
A “RED” FOX SPARROW was at Bailey Canyon Park in Sierra Madre on February 5
A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was at Ohara Nursery in Carson on February 5.
The DARK-EYED “GRAY-HEADED” JUNCO continued through February 5 and likewise did the HARRIS’S SPARROW through February 1 at Hahamongna Watershed Park in Pasadena. Both are usually around the sports field on the west side of the basin).
The RUSTY BLACKBIRD continued at Jesse Owens Park in Los Angeles through February 4. Check the area by the ball fields and playground.
A LUCY’S WARBLER has returned for a second winter to North Weddington Park in North Hollywood. It was seen in the north section near the fence along the drainage channel on February 4 and again on February 6.
The PALM WARBLER continued in Long Beach near 1765 Magnolia Ave. (along the greenbelt south of PCH and Magnolia) through February 3.
The PAINTED REDSTART at Brookside Park in Pasadena was present through February 1. It is being seen behind the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center between the playground area and Arroyo Terrace and favors the large dead pine tree.
A SUMMER TANAGER continued at the Los Angeles Arboretum in Arcadia through February 3. It was seen near the restrooms south of the rose garden.
